Under the Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines organization, P&W Engine Services (PWES) owns commercial Fleet Management Programs (FMP) including IAE V2500 Engine Flight Hour Agreement (FHA) contracts. Under an FMP/FHA contract, the customer hires PWES to manage the engine overhaul and repair requirements utilizing P&W / IAE network maintenance and repair centers. The PWES Aftermarket strategy is heavily tied to the success of FMP/FHA commercial performance for the portfolio of IAE and P&W commercial engines, including the Next Generation Product Family.

In this position, the candidate will work for the PWES Cost Management Group, actively leading a cross functional team to plan and execute on cost control and related initiatives targeted to reduce the cost of engine overhaul and repair shop visits. Methodologies and process associated with cost data collection, analysis, and resulting action plans are subject to continuous improvement, a critical enabler to manage the large and increasing volume of shop visit activity moving forward. Applicants should have 5 to 10 years plus of project management experience, coupled with demonstrated leadership skills in project management, including a foundational understanding and application of project risk management and master planning. A results driven mindset is critical for success.

This position will focus on developing and executing on improved processes to collect, sort, and manage cost control data by means of improved IT integrated solutions with emphasis on the following:
  • overhaul and repair shop visit cost targets established ahead of engine induction
  • real time cost control data collection and analysis during engine overhaul/repair cycle
  • post overhaul/repair cost analysis to identify new cost reduction opportunities

The successful candidate will develop critical relationships within PWES including Power Plant Engineering, Business Analytics, Resident Cost Engineers, and Life Cycle Cost Optimization team, as well as internationally located Maintenance and Repair Centers. As a project leader, taking ownership and setting direction for the broader team with respect to cost control planning and execution via optimized process and standard work will be foundational to enhance PWES contract profitability.
This role requires a diverse skill set, including: demonstrated business judgment, communication / presentation, adaptability, technical acumen, strategic and forward thinking as well as the ability to integrate project activities into more self sustaining processes and procedures. Periodic travel to P&W and IAE Aftermarket network Maintenance Centers will be a required.
Qualifications Master’s Degree in Business Management or related, and/or strong business application experience is preferred

Demonstrated experience with Project Management processes, tools, and techniques, including knowledge and application of ACE and/or similar continuous improvement operating systems

Leadership experience in managing projects involving broad integration with domestic and international stakeholders

Foundational technical knowledge of PW commercial gas turbine engines

Project operational responsibility for leading financial planning activities, business case development, and associated financial deliverables

Experience working with or for Pratt & Whitney Aftermarket related maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) businesses
Education Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline with 7+ years relevant work experience including project management
