A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is needed to help drive continuous improvement projects within and across Center 2500, Component Science, Engineering and Production\. Depending on the skill set of the successful candidate, this position will play an important role in the leadership of enterprise integration activities, the development of enterprise systems and processes, and working with line organizations to identify and resolve process problems\. Teaming with Center personnel from senior leadership to operators, and quickly being able to provide value to the organization will be essential to success\.

If the successful candidate does not possess a current Lean Six Sigma Black Belt \(LSS BB\) Certification, they will be required to obtain one within one year of completing the LSS BB training class\.


+ Bachelor's degree plus 5 or more years of directly\-related experience in supporting continuous improvement & lean initiatives; or a Master's degree plus 2 or more years relevant experience listed above

+ Able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance


+ Current Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification

+ Experience leading culture change or experience with change management

+ Knowledge and experience in product development and production environments

+ Effective communication skills

+ Ability to build partnerships with high energy, mission\-oriented, and highly\-diversified management and technical personnel both within SNL organizations and with external customers/suppliers

+ Experience with Project Management \{leadership experience\)

+ Experience establishing metrics for successfully measuring organizational state of health

+ Ability to work in a team\-focused environment, exercise discretion, and maintain confidentiality of information

+ Ability to develop, implement, verify and validate processes to meet customer requirements

+ Ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for achieving results \(e\.g\. decision making models\)

+ Ability to work with abstract concepts to create tangible products that drive improvement

+ Experience with the development of strategic plans at various levels of the organization

+ Active/Current DOE security clearance

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\.
