Description: Description About the Position: This role is heavily focused on data management activities to identify exceptions, determine root cause, and work toward conversion, data remediation including historical and current data corrections, and proactively measure our data quality going forward. In addition, this role works cross-functionally on providing data management support to workstreams (Asset Management, Work Management, and Customer Experience) while ensuring data management best-practices are adhered to. This role will have the opportunity to look at wealth of the gas operations data such as gas assets, gas work orders, leaks, customers, employees, and our facilities. Key responsibilities of this role include profiling and identifying data quality issues, prioritizing based on business impact and data criticality while engaging our gas operations stakeholder on workstream team and effectively communicating status to management. . Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Data Profile & Quality: · Perform data mining to identify data quality issues, root cause,and resolution based on data management best practices including processimprovements · Periodically audit data to identify areas that requireadditional focus utilizing data quality business rules
Data Governance: · Collaborate with business functions, IS, and other functions toensure project requirements adhere to data management best practices · Create and maintain Gas Operations business glossary of data, keymetrics, report inventory, and reporting data sources · Establish and enforce BMS data policies and procedures · Collaborate with Data Architect to develop comprehensive datalineage documentation
Modernization: · Revamp the Informatica Data Quality functionalities for thedifferent program anchors and our GBE program deliverables · Continually work toward establishing single reporting repositoryto reduce data duplication and quality issues · Establish self-service analytic capabilities for businessfunctions · Identify data that requires increased frequency of updating · Enable the data archiving capabilities as we retire our legacysystems
Solving: · Establishing data remediation for identified data issues in ourconversion and in our future steady state · Identify new data needs, providing expertise to business functionsand IS to incorporate into existing reporting repository · Understand data flow and synchronization between systems and createand improve master data management
Collaboration: · Future state: Work collaboratively with Data Stewards and DataOwners to ensure alignment on data quality, governance, modernization, andsolutioning initiatives · Future state: Ensure the Data Governance is aware and aligned ofcurrent initiatives and approach
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required:
· Minimum 5-7 years of direct experience with data managementinitiatives (data profiling, improvement, accuracy, completeness, integrity,security, stewardship, and governance) · Minimum 2 to 3 years of direct experience with self-serviceanalytics tools (SAP Hana, Business Objects , MicroStrategy, etc.) · Strong knowledge and working experience in Informatica DataQuality (Developer & Analyst Module) · Experience with Azure cloud computing · Strong understanding of data warehousing (SQL, etc.) and bestpractices · Strong experience in Tableau · Experience in documenting data lineage from operational sourceto reporting repository · Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science/Math/Engineering/MIS · Previous experience managing enterprise-level projects · Ability to investigate anomalies and proactively problem solve · Able to work within a fast-paced environment with quicklychanging priorities · Must be a fast learner and willing to learn independently · Able to exercise judgment as it relates to business decisions andtheir effects on stakeholders · Strong time management skills to manage multiple prioritiesunder time constraints · Strong presentation and communication skills, both written andverbal
Preferred Qualifications: · Master in Computer Science/Math/Engineering/MIS · Understanding of the Utilities industry · Data Modeling · Mainframe platform experience · SAP/BO/Salesforce experiences
