Job Purpose: The Advanced Data & Analytics team’s mission is to transform National Grid into a modern, insights-driven enterprise. The Advanced Analytics Adoption team works with other ADA teams and across the company to ensure that models, analyses, and algorithms are transformed into business value that create an “Insights Culture” at National Grid. As an Analytics Business Partner you will be the driving force in embedding Advanced Analytics solutions (Machine Learning, Artificial/Augmented Intelligence, and Process Automation “Bots” based on Big Data) generated by the ADA into the business processes, employee behaviors and decision making of National Grid. You will sit within the various End-To-End Business Processes as an agent for change and improvement, working directly with the business domain experts to provide a revolutionary new perspective on how work and organizational capability can be reimagined through advanced analytics. Partnering with senior leadership, you will create the environment that nudges employee behavior and decision making to maximize value creation for our customers, employees, shareholders and society. You will positively influence our 15,000 US employees and 20 million energy customers. The capabilities which are necessary for success in this role include: Ability to plan long term and work alongside a complex business function in order to contribute to defining the strategy Exceptional facilitation skills in order to work collaboratively with the business Ability to work collaboratively on teams within Advanced Data & Analytics and across the company Ability to identify analytics solutions to any business challenge Confidence to challenge the U.S. leadership’s thinking and ability to drive change among the U.S. leadership Key Accountabilities: Identify opportunities to deploy Advanced Analytics across end-to-end processes to achieve operational and strategic business value Provide implementation guidance and strategy planning for business processes re-engineering based on descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive insights from Advanced Analytics Drive groundbreaking change in moving National Grid to an insights-driven decision making enterprise Persuade and influence employees at every level to achieve value through adoption of Advanced Analytics Co-create the compelling need for change and an environment that leads to sustainable improvements in employee behavior and decision making Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Requirements: Required Background: Knowledge requirements: Intellectually curious and emotionally intelligent Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, business administration, behavioral economics, psychology, or related field. Master’s or PhD preferred Experience requirements: 7+ years of experience managing and leading change in large, organizationally-complex companies Demonstrated ability to learn complex concepts and subsequently communicate/teach them to both senior executives and front-line employees Project/program management across both the tactical and strategic timescales Preferred Background: Preferred knowledge set: Machine learning algorithms, database architectures, and software development methods Utility-relevant knowledge (e.g.: power systems engineering, construction management) Modern decision-making psychology research Non-coercive behavior modification (e.g.: MINDSPACE, nudges) Educational psychology and constructivism teaching framework Corporate strategy development Preferred experience set: Client relationship management Consultative/advisory experience This position is one of National Grid’s career path roles which provide for promotional opportunities within and across salary bands as you develop and evolve in the position by gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
