Job Title:Intellectual Property Operations Professional (Early/Mid-Career)

The Intellectual Property (IP) Management, Business and Competitive Intelligence (BCI) and Business Development Department is seeking an Intellectual Property Operations Professional.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

+ Establish systems and processes to facilitate intellectual property (IP) management, IP deployment and licensing agreements
+ Facilitate moving IP through the patent and copyright process
+ Help grow and deploy IP into partnerships so Sandia may more effectively serve the national interest
+ Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and guidelines related to IP
+ Perform royalty distribution management

Required:



+ Bachelor?s degree plus one year of relevant experience
+ Experience in an IP and licensing organization using state-of-the-art IP management and licensing tools and processes
+ Experience establishing processes and tools to support IP management and licensing activities
+ Experience with project planning, cost estimation, and risk management as it pertains to IP and licensing
+ Experience managing specific activities such as royalty income distribution, organizational reviews to make IP decisions, marketing of IP and contractual follow up
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoE L clearance

Desired:

+ MBA or equivalent
+ Marketing experience
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills



The Intellectual Property (IP) Management, Business and Competitive Intelligence (BCI) and Business Development Department 1182 is responsible for managing Sandia?s IP portfolio and for negotiating and consummating license agreements. In cooperation with others in the Partnerships team, the department enables impactful partnerships to deploy Sandia's IP to industry, universities, and state and federal agencies. The department also provides embedded business development support to Sandia's program management centers and program portfolios to enable the development of national security programs and partnerships. We achieve this through the creation and implementation of programmatic and technology strategy, capture planning, federal government and industry engagement and other marketing efforts. In addition, the department provides business and competitive intelligence to support leadership decision making.

Security Clearance:


Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE)-granted L-level security clearance.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug testing, and a pre-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.

This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
