We are seeking an Information Security Specialist to work in the FIE Cyber Security Operations Department.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Review software and hardware changes for risks;
+ Perform data transfers between networks;
+ Review and approve account requests;
+ Review electronic media and devices for risks and mitigation approach;
+ Create or revise information system security plans and perform continuous monitoring.

Required:



+ Three years of relevant experience.
+ Active or recent (less than 5 years) DOE Q or DOD Top Secret security clearance;
+ Experience in one or more of the following: Information technology, management information systems, computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, operations or similar field;
+ Experience in a related field such as computer security, system administration, network administration, or software development;
+ Able to obtain and maintain required an SCI security clearance, which may require a polygraph test.

Desired:

+ Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
+ Experience working in a US Government cyber security program, or knowledge and experience with cyber security orders and policies;
+ Experience and ability to apply cyber security standards, directives, guidance and policies to an architectural framework;
+ Cyber security certifications (e.g. Security+, CISSP, CISM, GIAC);
+ Experience with Sandia's cyber security requirements, developing and managing security plans;
+ Configuration Management experience;
+ Experience and ability to professionally succeed in a rapid paced environment with frequent change while remaining focused, positive, and highly productive;
+ Experience and ability to adapt to changing requirements, and have customer support experience;
+ Enthusiastic self-starters with the ability to actively contribute on multiple efforts simultaneously, and have experience with and interest in process improvement;



The FIE Cyber Security Operations Department 00097 manages, facilitates, and supports all elements of cyber security and information assurance for the Sandia FIE and all IWFO programs.

Security Clearance:


Position requires an SCI security clearance.

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) granted Q-level security clearance and SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug testing, and a pre-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship and SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test.

Applicants offered employment with Sandia are subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance.
