We are seeking an Information Systems Architect to join our Technical Development (TechDev) team. The mission for the team is to enhance the performance, user experience, reliability and security to protect and enable Windows devices. We develop tools and processes to manage and protect Windows computers and solutions in the Enterprise level IT environment. The successful candidate will join a team of high performing IT professionals who are dedicated to the Sandia workforce productivity and security.

The selected candidate, as part of TechDev, can expect to perform a diverse set of technical tasks such as provide technical leadership to analyze, design and implement technologies to implement Cyber Security controls for Sandia, responding to requests and direction from Cyber Security. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide IT technical leadership and Tier 3 support for their team. They will work closely with other teams within Computing Support Services, as well as with other IT organizations such as Cyber Security, Enterprise Computing, and networking/Telecommunications to ensure a robust, secure, and reliable Windows environment.

Required:



+ Requires bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other relevant discipline plus entry level experience (up to 2 years); or master?s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Three or more years of experience in:

- Troubleshooting and supporting Windows desktops at an Enterprise level
- In depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office in a complex, distributed environment.
- Programming skill/scripting language experience.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a required DOE L-level security clearance.

Desired:

+ ITIL certification.
+ Experience and understanding of a computer architecture and network management, (DNS, AD, etc.).
+ Strong analytical and organizational skills.
+ High level knowledge of Computer Management Solutions, IT Cyber Policies, and COE requirements.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
+ Experience partnering with other IT organizations in support of Enterprise-Wide Solutions (as exemplified via Reference).
+ Demonstrated experience providing exceptional customer service (as exemplified via Reference).



The Enterprise Endpoint Engineering department executes the engineering of classified and unclassified endpoints to enable productivity for Sandia. This engineering includes the research and deployment of hardware, Operating systems, and COE for Windows, Linux, iOS and Mac platforms. We partner with Cyber Security to ensure all endpoints effectively balance End User Experience and Cyber Security.

Security Clearance:


Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE)-granted L-level security clearance.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug testing, and a pre-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications.
