Applicants will be expected to work on several projects simultaneously and in a teaming environment. Opportunities exist to design, develop, and implement state-of-the-art computing platforms to improve the operational efficiency of Group 9430.

Typical projects consist of the following:

+ Assist analysts with simulations on large multi-node, UNIX based computational platforms
+ Identify workflow issues and implement solutions for modeling efficiency improvement.
+ Research and recommend technology to improve current computational systems.
+ Determine integrated hardware and software architecture solutions to meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security needs.
+ Manage and troubleshoot Windows based servers and desktops on SRN and SCN networks.
+ Responsible for configuration, installation, maintenance and user support for Citrix PVS provisioning servers and VHD images.
+ Provide development/support for: GPU based servers, Active Directory Organization Units, license/file servers, configuration of diskless Windows images, disk-full Windows desktops and software applications.
+ Provide technical expertise for: system upgrades, modeling workflow improvements, security requirements and applications, and infrastructure improvements.

+ Requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline plus five years of experience, or a master's degree in a relevant discipline plus two years of experience; or a doctorate in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience (a minimum of 13 years of experience required to qualify without a relevant degree)

+ Experience with circuit simulation software (e.g. SPICE, PSpice, Xyce).
+ Understanding of GPU server(s) setup, configuration and optimization.
+ Experience in the configuration of Citrix PVS servers and software license servers.
+ Experience designing, developing, and analyzing overall architecture of internal systems, including hardware and software.

We analyze complex electrical circuit behavior for a variety of performance, safety, sensitivity, aging, or environmental issues. We work with multiple teams, mostly internal to Sandia, responsible for designing or maintaining electrical components or subsystems of high consequence systems. Our staff is comprised mainly of Master's-level and PhD-level electrical engineers who use modeling and simulation to assure that electrical system designs and products meet stringent requirements that include temperature extremes and radiation environments. In certain cases, we investigate why these systems deviate from expected behavior or requirements. Our analysis capability includes the effects of electromagnetic environments, such as lightning, electrostatic discharge, and electromagnetic radiation (EMR), on the safety and performance of complex systems, including facilities.
