An opportunity exists for an energetic supply chain professional to join a dedicated, cross functional team consisting of Engineering/Operations/Aftermarket/EH&S/MPE/IT professionals working to implement strategies to comply with REACh and other global chemical regulations.

REACh (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) is a European Union environmental regulation aimed at protecting human health and the environment. This dynamic regulation requires a full understanding of the chemical composition of the products we make and repair, along with the associated manufacturing processes and respective geographic supply chain value streams. The regulation poses a risk to P&W’s business continuity if certain substances cannot be used to manufacture or repair parts in the European Union. Similar regulations are evolving beyond Europe that may also affect P&W’s supply chain.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that covers the complete P&W value stream - from design to manufacturing or repair to shipping - working to define and implement compliance strategies across all of P&W’s portfolios of products.

Job responsibilities include:

Understanding and mitigating supply chain impacts of regulatory changes and/or additional regulations. This responsibility may include defining new IT requirements and needs for additional or enhanced standard work.

Understanding risks in the supply chain via supplier assessments and surveys and recommending and implementing effective corrective actions

Aligning with the Procurement/Strategic Sourcing organizations on compliance strategies

Collaborating with engineering on insertion of “Green” technologies into the P&W and supplier manufacturing base

Supporting the supply chain functionality of an enterprise-wide IT solution and maintaining associated global supply chain standard work

Coordinating alignment with counterparts in P&W Canada and across UTC

The selected candidate should possess the following:

Supply chain experience – both tactical and strategic

Manufacturing process knowledge

Basic engineering knowledge

Interpersonal/teamwork skills

Strong communications skills

Ability to understand regulatory requirements and apply them to P&W’s business.
