Global Engine Systems (GES) Electronics Chief Project Engineer
The GES Project Organization at United Technologies Aerospace Systems – Electric, Environmental, and Engine Systems is seeking an Electronics Chief Project Engineer with demonstrated leadership experience in meeting customer and company objectives. Job responsibilities require an energetic and dedicated individual to operate in an entrepreneurial product development area of Electric, Environmental, and Engine System's leading edge technology line of Electronic Products (Electronic Engine Controls and Monitoring Systems).

The candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide leadership to the execution of GES electronics programs in various stages of the product life cycle
  • Ensure technical requirements and program targets are achieved
  • Plan / Manage budgets, schedules, and resources
  • Compile, submit, and report on GES metrics
  • Communication on program status to engineering leadership, customers, and the program office
  • Work with customers, engineering leadership, and the program office to develop and acquire new business
  • Understand customer/ internal processes and ensure adherence
  • Define organizational/process deficiencies and implement corrective action


Qualification: Successful candidate will be a highly skilled individual with excellent communications skills, eager and capable of being held accountable for achievement of business objectives, and who understands and recognizes the importance of holding others accountable for their actions. Practices the principles of time management and manage assigned personnel on projects. Applicants should demonstrate a good work ethic and be committed to the success of the business.

- 8+ years Project or Program Management experience, preferably in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
- Experience in the Development to Production product life cycle
- Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts
- Experience managing/leading projects utilizing an Earned Value Management System
- Experience working and leading Integrated Product Development teams
- Basic working knowledge of electronics is highly desirable
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary along with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience with manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing a plus
- Ability to plan and execute technical and business proposals is a plus
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project & Excel
Education: B.S. in Engineering. Advanced degree in Engineering and/or Business desired.
