This is an entry level position supporting the development of efficient blower systems to meet product regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have some limited experience in the design, testing, and application of components for HVAC equipment or a similar industry. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and ing highly efficient blower packages for residential gas furnaces to ensure product compliance with energy consumption regulations and to help position products competitively in the marketplace.

You will have the opportunity to interface with product development engineers, lab technicians, model makers and designers. You will also be collaborating with members from other functional groups such as Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, Suppliers, and Advanced Technology Development groups.


  • Will basic mechanical engineering principles in the development of components for residential gas furnaces
  • Will work with quality/reliability to implement key metrics into the design of the product and ensure all reliability design goals are achieved
  • Will contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives for Engineering function
  • Will be capable of understanding and following EH&S, Ethics, and International Trade Compliance (ITC) Practices and Policies
  • Will be responsible for a complex component of a larger project or complete project management depending on scope of project
  • Will contribute to their team or department by ing their knowledge of one or more functional areas
  • Will be able to work with minimal to moderate guidance or direction from others
  • Will be professional and capable of advancement with further experience and skill enhancement

  • Basic understanding of engineering processes in a corporate environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct basic data analysis
  • Foundational knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools
  • Ability to work in a team environment collaboratively with other functional groups
  • Intermediate to high level skills with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project
  • Organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities
  • Capacity to self-direct/motivate with a vision toward overall project goals

Education: The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and have an interest in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and/or the development of efficient blower systems.
