Position Summary: • The candidate will work projects to develop the next generation of filtration products. • The role will include a variety of product development activities within a range of core market sectors: Bio-Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Industrial, Fine Chemical and Electronics. • The technologies to be supported will include micro-filtration, nano-filtration and molecular separation applications. • This position is regarded as key for the provision of support to develop and maintain new and existing business opportunities, within the core market/technology sectors. Scope/Supervision and Interaction: ____ Has Direct Reports __x__ Does Not Have Direct Reports • Reporting to the Engineering Department the successful candidate will join a team of dedicated Technical Support Scientists, Engineers and Technicians. • The role will entail collaboration with engineering, laboratory, quality, operations and marketing teams as part of continual product improvement, validation and new product/application development exercises.

Essential Functions

• Designing or modifying existing filtration media to improve filtration efficiency and attributes. • Designing or modifying existing filtration elements to improve filtration efficiency and attributes. • Characterizing, and testing media for filtration applications. • Design testing criteria as well as application / technical support literature that will be used by customer service and technical support teams. • Develop manufacturing techniques and scale up processes from R&D to Production. • Characterizing existing manufacturing and work with cross functional teams to improve process and product. • Maintain presence in academic and professional industry to monitor trends and upcoming technology.


• Bachelor degree (BS) (or Professional Engineer (PE) certificate in biological or chemical engineering, physics or other engineering related discipline. Two to three years related experience or education research equivalent. • Experience with PES, PS, PVDF, Nylon, Glass Fiber as well as their manufacturing techniques. • Experience with fiber spinning, polymer extrusion, polymer casting and surface modification techniques. • Experience with SEM, Optical Microscope, FTIR, Strain Analysis, HPLC. LPLC, GC, Leachable and Extractable Analysis, Element Autopsy, DF, BP, NVR, LVR, and Endotoxin testing • Practical approach to problem solving and excellent interpersonal skills. • Experience dealing with internal and external customers, their problems and compiling appropriate responses. • Highly self-motivated and results focused. • Confident in public speaking. • Flexible and willing to travel.
