Job Description:
Reporting to the Project Manager, the AEP Fan Rotors IPT (Integrated Product Team) Lead provides strong technical leadership for all aspects of the IPT, while working alongside the following functions at Pratt & Whitney:
• Program Management - to ensure projects are properly managed to achieve on-time delivery in accordance with project plans/milestones.
• Integrated Product Team (IPT) - to ensure flawless execution of Engineering tasks as they pertain to overall program requirements.
• Project Engineering - to ensure overall Engineering integrity is achieved, compliance to Engineering standard work met, lessons learned are addressed, and a robust trouble-free product is developed and maintained through careful risk assessment and mitigation.
The IPT Lead will oversee execution of program activities including:
• Act as technical focal with our Customers (internal and external) and suppliers/vendors.
• Submit technical data to the Customer for approval/acceptance per contractual requirements.
• Foster strong Customer relationships through accountability, transparency and credibility.
• Develop and be accountable for overall IPT schedule and budget and harmonize priorities and objectives with functional groups (Program Management, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, etc.)
• Responsible and accountable for accuracy of all related Engineering tasks and associated completion dates.
• Set Engineering priorities and objectives with a strong drive to meet expectations.
• Communicate progress and roadblocks with the Integrated Product Team (IPT), CIPT Lead, and Engineering Management
• Support the Customer and/or Government representatives as required.
• Perform, lead or facilitate Engineering investigations into product failures and ownership of the root cause and corrective action process.
• Other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager based on skillset and qualifications.
In addition to the project engineering tasks described above, the Rotors IPT Lead will be responsible for the following:
• Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance for completing PE activities.
• Work with the Project Manager to identify areas of process improvement.
• Review and approve engineering standard work for all IPTs within the Fan group CIPT
• Assist the project manager in tasks related to overall group management
