**JOB SUMMARY:**



Performs technical work to support engineering and maintenance activities involving construction, maintenance, inspection, and facilities and infrastructure system operations\.



**PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**



+ Performs a variety of facilities\-related functions, including computer\-aided drafting and design; work preparation; inspection, monitoring, and control of facility systems and components; technical interface between facilities staff and building occupants; and monitoring and analyzing equipment performance\.

+ Performs general facility systems or equipment maintenance or repairs as required\.

+ Troubleshoots and makes recommendations regarding facility operating equipment and systems\.

+ Reports and tracks progress toward goals for schedules and costs related to facility equipment\.

+ Works with facility engineers on the technical aspects of construction, design, start\-up, or operations support and maintenance\.

+ Supports operational capabilities within facilities, including construction safety, permitting, document control, space management, energy monitoring, and information technology applications\.

+ Understands and adheres to all applicable Sandia National Laboratories and industry regulatory and safety guidelines\.

+ Ensures all results, materials, processes, and final products meet quality specifications and are completed according to established requirements\.



**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**



+ Knowledge and experience in facility maintenance activities, including mechanical, electrical, and chemical processing systems\.

+ Knowledge and understanding of calibration methods\.

+ Understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configurations, and lockout/tagout policies and procedures\.

+ Understanding of various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents including drawings, schematics, and operations manuals\.

+ Ability to clearly communicate the status of facility equipment and maintenance and upgrade activities\.

+ Knowledge of Sandia's facility and operational policies, practices, and procedures\.

+ Knowledge of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting facility maintenance and operations\.



**JOB SPECIFICATIONS:**



We are looking for energetic individuals to join our Facilities Management team\. We have entry and senior level opportunities in all areas of our organization including engineering support, operations, maintenance, planning, and project / construction management\. Our fast paced National Laboratory setting necessitates that individuals are comfortable with ambiguity of assignments and embody / embrace the value of being a service group\.



We seek individuals adept at problem solving in a variety of settings \- individually or as a member of a larger, integrated team\. Successful candidates will have the ability to assess and resolve immediate problems related to assignments with internal or external customers\. They will possess the general\-use and application of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in one or more areas of specialized knowledge\. They will have the ability to make recommendations for action based on analysis and evaluations performed\.



Required:



+ Requires high school diploma plus three or more years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience\.

+ Excellent communication and customer service skills\.

+ Ability to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external customers\.

+ Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks\.



Desired:



+ Degree / certificate in construction administration / management\.

+ California State Journeyman / Apprenticeship from recognized Trade School in related field\.

+ Demonstrated knowledge in the breadth of one or more of the following roles: engineering, operations, maintenance, planning, and project / construction management\.

+ Familiarity with building codes and standards \(I\-Codes\)\.

Security Clearance:



Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.



Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\.
