We are seeking a Tactical Planner to act as the Facilities Building Manager and will be responsible for the day to day \(immediate\) and short\-term management of facility needs, and will support the Facilities Area Manager \(FAM\) and Facilities Portfolio Manager \(FacPM\) for all building and customer solutions\.



Each of the Facilities Building Managers will be assigned a specific portfolio of space and a customer base for which they are responsible\.



On any given day, you may be called on to:



+ Understand all building types, design basis of spaces and occupancy within their assigned portfolio\. Conduct scope development studies to include laboratory, office, storage and conference rooms\.

+ Understand all building systems to ensure that HVAC, electrical and communication infrastructure, and physical layout will meet customer needs and expectations\. Communicate requests and modifications with building operations teams\. Have a clear understanding of all AE disciplines with the ability to develop detailed scopes of work\.

+ Develop the scope and budget, and authorize building modifications; coordinate and oversee the project execution with Facilities Express and contractors\.

+ Team with all members reporting to the FAM, Space Tactical Planners, and Strategic Space Planners to develop cross\-divisional building management options, recommendations, and solutions to increase space utilization\. These solutions may include: consolidations, modifications, reconfigurations, and repurposing of space, and co\-location of organizations and functions\. Have the ability to clearly communicate with architects and engineers\.

+ Understand building modifications well enough to recognize when design will be required\.

+ Negotiate customer requirements and limitations\.

+ Direct and coordinate modifications within their portfolio

+ Update Maximo information database system and related information technology applications for their assigned portfolio\. Review project and facility drawings and floor plans and work with the Computer Aided Drafting and Design team\.

+ Ability to clearly understands customer and building needs to present at the Plan of the Day and Plan of the Week meetings\.

+ Support analyses for Preliminary Real Estate Plans \(PREPs\), Division Facility and Infrastructure \(F&I\) Plans, the DOE Facility Information Management System \(FIMS\), and other plans and

+ studies, as requested\.

+ Have the ability and knowledge to review and accept minor construction work including maintenance and FE projects\. This requires a clear understanding of all disciplines including: architectural, structural, mechanical and electricals\.



Candidates applying on this requisition may be interviewed and/or hired into one of several organizations at Sandia National Laboratories\.



Required:



+ Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline plus four or more years of relevant experience; High School diploma plus eight or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience\.

+ Experience using IBM Facilities Management System \(i\.e\. Tririga, Maximo\) or similar software systems\.

+ Experience in a Building Management area, or equivalent education/training\.

+ Knowledge and experience in database management, Microsoft Office products, particularly EXCEL\.



Desired:



+ Formal credential in Facilities Management, such as: Facilities Management Professional \(FMP, IFMA\), Certified Facility Manager \(CFM, IFMA\), Certificate in Facilities Management \(from an accredited institution\), Facilities Management Certificate \(FMC, BOMI International\), Facilities Management Administrator \(FMA, BOMI International\)\.

+ Knowledge of Sandia's facility and operational policies, practices, and procedures\.

+ Knowledge of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting facility management and operations\.

+ Ability to exercise initiative as well as the acumen to manage and complete multiple priorities\.

+ Ability to clearly communicate the status of policies, reports, decisions and deliverables\.



Department Description:



Provides construction services for line customers and engineering for Facilities Management & Operations Center\.



Department 4823 is responsible for facilities in TAV, TAIII, Coyote Test Field, Solar Tower, 6000\-Igloo complex, Manzano mountain complex, and the remote facilities located within SNL\-NM\. Our mission is to maintain the buildings and associated systems fit for mission use, as well as to facilitate modifications in support of future mission work\. We strive to partner with our customers to respond to building issues and provide engineering solutions and support to meet the needs of the mission



Department 4824 provides Facilities Operations and Engineering for all Sandia facilities within Tech Areas II, III, IV, Coyote Test Field, Solar Tower, 6000\-Igloo complex, and all other remote facilities; we support the southwest corner of Tech Area I \(from building 880, to the south and west\); we support all SNL lease facilities; we support the Kauai Test Facility, Tonopah Test Range, and the Weapons Evaluation Test Laboratory\. We provide customer partnership and response to building issues, determination of new project needs, and engineering solutions and support\.



The Customer Operations North department 4826 is responsible for buildings in the northern and eastern portions of Tech Area 1, including the Manufacturing District\. Our role is to keep the buildings and associated systems in a condition fit for mission use and to facilitate modifications in support of future mission work\. Security Clearance:



Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
