Description: Description About the Position: ERM Program Managers work closely with all levels of management within each of our business areas to help in the identification, management and reporting of risks related to the achievement of their strategic objects. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Develop, enhance and maintain ERM processes so as to drive greater efficiencies, support business decision making, and ensure compliance with legal/regulatory and corporate governance requirements Develop and maintain effective relationships with key contacts (risk champions and coordinators) and senior leaders within business areas in order to understand their business objectives and the distinct risks to achieving these objectives. Assist the business in: Identifying key risks including each risk’s threats, opportunities, outcomes and controls Assessing each risk’s likelihood of occurrence and potential impact at current and risk management target levels Identifying and monitoring of control environment enhancement actions so as to manage these risks in accordance with the Company’s risk appetite Plan and facilitate risk workshops to help the business identify its most significant risks, risk management actions, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and emerging risks. Stay abreast of internal and external developments that may impact the Company’s risk profile and leverage this information to understand and challenge the content of business area risk registers including risk identification, control opinions, and risk scoring. Train and provide guidance to risk champions and coordinators regarding implementation of the Company’s risk management framework in their area. Promote risk awareness and risk management maturity across National Grid. Work closely with global ERM team members, other assurance functions (e.g. Compliance, Risk and Insurance, Internal Audit, etc.), and business cycle stages to promote alignment, maximize information benefit and support cross-process efficiency. Contribute to development and implementation of software-based tools and processes that enable risk trends across National Grid to be identified, analysed, reported, and acted upon in a timely manner. Contribute to the analysis and aggregation of risk information across the business and to the production of Develop and maintain effective relationships with key contacts (risk champions and coordinators) and senior leaders within business areas in order to understand their business objectives and the distinct risks to achieving these objectives.high quality Executive and Board level risk reports, including heat maps and dashboards. Provide an independent risk management view on business area and Company-wide projects.
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: Knowledge of National Grid’s various business areas The ability to identify and analyse potential risks to the organisation in the context of its business strategy and objectives, recognizing relationships between them as well as possible linkages to compliance/ assurance matters and to risk events external to National Grid. Analyze risk information and identifies patterns or trends and their potential impact upon the risk profile. Considers materiality and context. Establishes the key facts relating to risks by digging deeper, asking probing questions and challenging initial responses from the business areas. Uses direct persuasion to influence senior management, using risk information and data in the discussion and agreement of a clear business case for risk management action. Organizes complex information in clear, concise and simple manner to aid understanding and decision making Excellent communication, networking and collaboration skills A degree is required preferably in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or related field. Minimum of five years of experience in Company operations A solid understanding of the legal / regulatory / corporate governance requirements and business models, trends and issues of the US energy utility industry . Experience training, coaching and advising at all levels of an organization. E xperience in Risk, Compliance, Audit, Internal Control, Business Continuity a plus
