We are seeking a Engineering Systems Integration/Implementation Professional

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Perform work within a technical science and engineering environment in conjunction with Sandia staff on interdisciplinary projects that involve applying integrated technical judgment, utilizing the scientific method to recognize and formulate problems, to collect data through observation and experimentation, and to formulate and test hypotheses about the uses and deployment of advanced technologies in support of US nonproliferation and nuclear security goals.On any given day, you will be tasked to:? Conduct policy-related analyses in support of national and regional security programs, conduct gap analysis to discover new project needs, support efforts to develop insider threat mitigation programs, develop training materials in support of funded projects, work with visiting foreign scholars to introduce them to technologies that support implementation of security treaties and agreements, conduct research and analysis on countries and strategic commodities of programmatic interest.? Apply analysis of international affairs, principles of foreign relations, and scientific and engineering principles in analysis of advanced concepts and technologies for nonproliferation, nuclear security, nuclear safeguards, and international export control regimes.


? Advanced degree in science, engineering, law, social sciences, or humanities

? Demonstrated experience of working with international export control and nonproliferation regimes including control lists and barred entities

? Demonstrated strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

? Demonstrated ability to team across the lab and within the DOE complex to deliver results

? Demonstrated ability to work effectively with teams and as an individual


? Certificate of training from recognized entity on export control compliance/enforcement topics

? Experience in nuclear security programs, preferably with a specific focus on security culture and/or insider threat mitigation.

? Knowledge of project management

? SharePoint literacy

? Experience delivering international training and workshops

? Ability to assist in writing funding proposals and engage with sponsor on opportunities, technology needs, and training gaps

? Ability to travel domestically in support of programs

? Demonstrated versatility, political savvy, and high tolerance for ambiguity

The mission of Global Security Research and Analysis department is to develop creative science and technology solutions to address US national security concerns created by international and regional challenges. The four primary mission areas are: to provide technical analysis support to US government policies and internal nuclear weapons complex programs, conduct risk-informed analyses of international security issues and emerging, maintain international networks and competency on global issues (e.g., via Track II engagements, collaborative research and international conferences), and host international visiting scholars with whom we collaboratively explore technical and political issues affecting regional and global security.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE)-granted L-level security clearance.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug testing, and a pre-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications.
