We are seeking a Engineering Support Technologist



On any given day, you may be called on to:



1\. Development of Test and Evaluation plans for physical security systems



2\. Development of Pre\-Installation, Testing and Check Out \(PITCO\) test plans



3\. Configure data bases to support physical security system configuration and deployment



4\. Develop training to support site specific training requirements for operators, maintainers and system admins\.



5\. Collect data from sensor systems to determine nuisance alarm rates, false alarm rates and verify that sensors are meeting performance specifications\.



6\. Participate in site surveys to determine system requirements based on on policy and site specific requirements\.



7\. Develop processes to manage design, pre\-configuration, deployment, test and evaluation and government acceptance testing configuration management and turnover packages\.



8\. Learn new computer systems for specific vendor equipment to be able to configure and deploy per site specific designs\.



Required:



1\. 4 year college degree in engineering or other applicable 4 year degrees



2\. Ability to maintain DOE Q\-level clearance



Desired:



1\. Experience developing and documenting test reports



2\. Experience with database configuration and management



3\. Detail oriented while managing multiple deliverables



4\. Experience interpreting ambiguous requirements to develop specific designs



5\. Experience developing design reports with reference to specific policy requirements\.



Department Description:



The Security System Analysis & Engineering Department, \(6513\) is a component of Sandia's Weapons & Force Protection Center\. Department 6513 is responsible for the analysis, design, and implementation of complex physical security systems to protect critical DoD and DOE assets and defense capabilities\. The department provides project management and subject matter experts in the area of risk analysis, intrusion detection, video assessment, communications, entry control and Alarm Communication and Display, and response force planning\. These subject matter experts are developed internally with extensive hands on training and external educational opportunities\. Department employees have the ability to lead and/or participate as a subject matter expert in vulnerability/risk analysis studies, engineering studies, system design, Sensor and access control component testing, development, and integration of complex physical security systems \(PSS\) for DoD, DOE and other government agencies\. Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, and Civil Engineers primarily fill these roles\. This department is currently working with the DOE, US Navy, US Air Force, and US Army to enhance the effectiveness of critical asset protection at CONUS/OCONUS installations through several multi\-million dollar initiatives\.

Security Clearance:



Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.



Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance, which requires U\.S\. citizenship\.
