The Columbus Engine Center, a recognized leader in the aerospace industry, is looking for a Engineering Intern to support our organization. Day to day activities can involve significant interaction with other functional groups including Engineering, Operations and Quality, allowing for additional broad learning opportunities.

The Engineer Intern will work with the Production Engineering team on the new Geared Turbofan Engine. The role is primarily responsible for clarifying aircraft engine repair work scopes and associated work instructions to the Operations Department. These engineers will perform a technical advisory role support role in the dis-assembly, repair, assembly, and testing of jet engines. The Production Engineer Intern will support other functions within the Engine Center to include Materials, Quality, and Accounts Management when routine technical questions and issues that may arise in the day to day function of the Engine Center

Key Job Requirements
1. Support the Engineering tasks related to the Repair and Overhaul of Gas Turbine Engines
2. Support Operations in solving any assembly/configuration/inspection problems.
3. Work with Powerplant Engineers in preparing work scopes and work instructions for engine repairs. (Service Bulletins, advisories, performance requirements and modification requirements)
4. Assist in the creation and design of new tooling
5. Monitor the disassembly of the engine to identify possible cause of reject.
6. Do appropriate research, supporting and advising other functional areas regarding technical issues related to quality, operations processes, materials and customer support.
7. Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.
8. Report out on deliverables at the end of assignment

Candidate will work in both office and shop floor environments.


Candidate should be a full time student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.

Candidate must be a US Citizen.
