We have an immediate need for a Commissioning Engineer (Engineer I) in the NYC Metro Area (NY/NJ).

Here are the responsibilities for this position:
  • Member of commissioning project team
  • Collect and interpret data
  • Execute and interpret performance testing of HVAC equipment
  • Draw conclusions and provide recommendations
  • Present findings and corrective actions to the client
  • Execute testing, adjusting and balancing activities in the field.
  • Assist in the preparation commissioning plans, specifications and checklists (pre-functional and functional) in accordance with ASHRAE Standard 202-2013 and ASHRAE Guideline 0-2013.
  • Execute New Construction and Existing Building commissioning tasks in the field (issues database management, installation and functional testing, staff training, warranty reviews etc.)
  • Write field reports, site inspection reports and summary letters for work performed
  • Assist in the final development of reports.
  • Complete assigned task on time.

Qualification: Here are the requirements for this position:
  • Preferred experience: 3 years in engineering design, construction, operations and maintenance, ASHRAE energy audits, retro-commissioning and commissioning.
  • Experience working with central and distributed plant systems such as steam, chilled water, HVAC, plumbing, and building automation/energy management systems
  • Experience with different types of testing equipment including flow meters, temperature loggers, electrical meters, anemometers and balometers is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Strong facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Experience with BIM Modeling, AutoCAD, and scheduling tools a plus.

  • Travel to other project sites throughout the Tri State area isrequired.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from ABET accredited engineering program in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering. A combined work experience may be substituted for bachelors of engineering degree.
