Engine Services is seeking a Senior Fleet Technical Manager for the GP7000 Program. This role will oversee the Powerplant Engineering network responsible for the maintenance planning and workscope development in support of engine overhauls performed on the Fleet Management Agreement (FMA) fleet. Strong, clear direction in a very dynamic environment while recognizing opportunities to meet interval expectations, reliability, customer commitments and commercial objectives will be needed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and guidance for cross functional teams at the engine centers to insure smooth operational execution, continuous improvement in Shop Visit Cost and in Time on Wing.
  • Work effectively with 50/50 partner / competitor General Electric operations, production and cost engineering teams.
  • Establish and effectively communicate engine shop visit requirements. Coordinate with the engine center to insure effective implementation of workscope specifications, configuration requirements and specific engine shop maintenance instructions.
  • Work with product support engineering (PSE) and fellow Fleet Managers to identify and manage emerging issues, as well as the assessment and mitigation of technical risks to minimize interval and cost impacts through:
    • Maintenance planning including shop visit workscopes
    • Evaluation of hardware teardown conditions for potential limit increases, part repair development or part redesign opportunities
    • Invoice Deconstruction/Trending/findings assessment – Identification of cost drivers and work to implement solutions
    • Business case development – Impact to financials
    • Service Bulletin technical/business assessment
  • Provide Shop Visit technical support in order to limit workscope expansion.
  • Provide timely resolution of technical or business questions/issues the shop may have on specific engine or program requirements.
  • Support EAC process in support of early recognition of ETR’s, financial impact to portfolio while developing team members in support of their own customer EAC reviews.
