The EFS Specialist will be part of our geographically dispersed Covanta Field Services (CFS) team. While you will be based at one of our facilities, you will be traveling a lot to other facilities. Thus, this is a great opportunity to gain experience (and grow) with a variety of systems and technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

Aid in trouble-shooting indoor and outdoor high voltage or connection voltage sub-station apparatus problems.

Specialist is to provide facility support of troubleshooting of electrical apparatus problems, planning of major electrical maintenance activities, and support for Technical Standards compliance. Also provide technical and safety support and training of facility electricians.

Work from schematic and wiring diagrams, control board physical layouts, and manufacturer's instructions.
Participate in the commissioning of new substations, stage additions, or substation preconditioning preparation for installations of automated supervisory control systems.

•Minimum 5 years’ experience in high voltage electrical power distribution and controls control and protection experience
•Should have an understanding of electrical power generation protection relay schemes.
•Field experience with operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of facility distributive power systems from 13.8KV and lower
•Knowledge and ability to use tools and specialized equipment and procedures to maintain and test power system metering, control, and protective relay equipment.
•Knowledge of electrical theory and instruments and ability to do troubleshooting.
•Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and instruction manuals.
•80% travel
