Position will support all activities related to business Operation (Production & Repairs), Supplier Management, Distribution, and Quality within a relatively small business unit responsible for production and repair of data acquisition systems, data transmission units and communication systems supporting Diagnostic, Prognostic and Health Management (DPHM) of Aircraft turbine engines.

Key Functions/Tasks:


  • Responsible Manager interface with the FAA, FSDO, MIDO, and all certification agencies
  • Responsible Manager for FAA Repair Station
  • Responsible Manager for FAA Part Manufacturer Approval of new products and applications
  • Responsible Manager for overall quality and operations flow down of requirements and compliance, successful leadership of cross functional team in meeting deliverables is required

Supply Chain

  • Manage Manufacturing supplier relationship and compliance to quality requirements
  • Manage product and component obsolescence: analyze, find, and implement solutions
  • Integrate new certified products and engineering change orders
  • Manage costs, on-time delivery, min/max product inventory levels and overall supplier performance
  • Review metrics and report on suppliers’ performance (delivery and quality), implement corrective actions as required
  • Lead negotiations and establishment of applicable supply agreements, contracts, and purchase order terms and conditions


  • Ensure overall manufacturing readiness for existing and new applications and products
  • Evaluate and recommend improvement for any issues that cause a slowdown in production process
  • Drive continuous improvement of quality, production, and shipping processes
  • Assist in procurement activities (approving requisitions/POs, managing costs, reconciling with finance, etc.)
  • Periodically review all inspection and quality control activities to determine conformance with authorized quality control policy and procedures and make appropriate correction and improvement as may be necessary
  • Analyze reports of defective goods complaints, institute the necessary action to control or eliminate the manufacture of defective products
  • Ensure Business compliance with various regulations (FAA, EASA, AS9100, QMS Certification Agencies, etc.) for Production and Repairs via preparation for regulation’s audits and ensuring completion of corrective actions
  • Implement requirements related to UTC’s supplier manufacturing of product that will be part of the turbine engine bill of material (B.O.M.) (i.e.: UTC Supplier Quality System Requirements (e.g.: UTC Production Part Approval Process (UPPAP))


  • Oversee and participate in all Quality Management Review Meetings, audit requirements and new and continuous improvement initiatives (eg. AS9100, QCPC clinics, ACE, UTC UPPAP, etc.)
  • Approve Quality, Engineering and Production documentation such as QA Manual, Procedures, Work Instructions, CARs, PARs, SCARs, ECOs, Bill of Materials, Specifications,Calibration and MTBF/BR calculations
  • Responsible for all official communications with Aircraft OEMs in regards to Quality (corrective action requests, bill of material management, engineering change process, etc.)

Repair Station (internal Repair Station and 2 outside Repair Stations)

  • Manage and ensure repair stations are compliant with regulatory agency requirements (FAA, EASA, etc) and repair station metrics are met
  • Review/Update/Ensure compliance of FAA Repair Station Manual
  • Review/Update/Ensure compliance of EASA Repair Station Supplement
  • Review/Update Repair Station capabilities list, roster, approved sub-contractor list, etc.
  • Manage repair station training program
  • Prepare and Complete annual FSDO audit of repair station
  • Evaluate trends, turn time, number of repairs in house, failure analysis and reporting
  • Manage all necessary paperwork for repairs; repair station work order, inspection and test records, maintenance release tag, Form 8130-3
