About the Position: The Director, Reporting and Analytics - Reporting Center of Excellence reports to the Vice President, Strategic Initiatives and is responsible for the production and distribution of standard management reports internally and externally. Oversees reporting for financial statements by ensuring the use of credible data. Partners with Finance Operations and Finance Business Partners for the collection of financial information to produce accurate reporting.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Responsible for production and distribution of timely and accurate reports to meet internal and external reporting requirements. Maintain a high degree of knowledge of all current US GAAP, FERC, and IFRS regulations and requirements to ensure that application of accounting policies are reported accurately and effectively. Partners with Technology Enablement to ensure systems can meet reporting needs. Builds and manages results driven teams by taking a strategic and technical view of performance management by involving employees in change management planning, relationship building, decision making, and project management processes. Accountable for ensuring teams adhere and support financial and non-financial controls. Strengthens partnerships and broadens connections across the organization through interpersonal communication to negotiate and influence. Coach, engage, challenge, and hold the managers to account for their own and their team's performance. Set the strategic tone for improvement initiatives in the short and medium term. Be able to build a robust business case which effectively balances risk and opportunity to drive performance. Work with UK Reporting Center of Excellence to drive best practice, influence, and collaborate on policy and develop a global approach to Strategic and Executive reporting
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required:
Accuracy and accessibility of financial records Performance Management, Regulatory, and External Reporting Business Intelligence systems, reporting tools, and data structure General and technical accounting knowledge System implementation Utility industry accounting US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and IFRS Process Management Month-end close processes Risk mitigation Effective business partnerships
Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in MIS or reporting, general and / or technical accounting roles with increasing responsibility Broad range of financial management experience Extensive background in general or technical accounting Proven experience in reporting requirements Background in utility service business activities and projects Project management and problem solving skills Effective collaboration and partnership capabilities Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines Excellent written / oral communication skills and follow-up Ability to build and develop teams of multi-skilled financial professional
