Description: Description About the Position: Provides strategic and operational leadership for all physical distribution sites. Provides leadership to ensure all safety, delivery and productivity standards are maintained and continuous improvement and new ways of operating are part of the operating culture. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Continuously fosters a culture that ensures a safe operating environment. Develop long range plan and reviews this plan with operations and planning to ensure complete and proper prioritization for short term and long term scheduling. Evaluate existing operation and implement improvements affecting productivity, accuracy, quality and service level. Develop and coach the team to improve and enhance a productive and efficient operation. Works closely with all vendors to improve service levels. Ensures all inventory is maintained and accurately reported. Maintain or enhance inventory control systems that will improve material flow and track inventory accuracy. Develop the annual operating budget and 3 year plan for the site’s operational needs and related safety programs. Regularly report results to management.
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: BS in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain Management. At least 10 years knowledge and related experience in; material planning, warehouse operations, supply chain, and/or Electric/gas operations. Demonstrates the leadership skills and abilities needed to envision the future and chart the strategic direction of a dynamic, geographically separated organization. Extensive experience managing complex budgets in a fiscally constrained environment. Demonstrates deep understanding of the issues impacting the inventory management, logistics/supply chain industry sector. Excellent organizational skills with ability to clearly and concisely relate financial implications of options. Ability to effectively influence and work across functions for successful execution of key initiatives. Well developed communication skills (verbal and written), with strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with all levels of employees and management 40% travel required to attend meetings or visit other sites as needed.
