Description: Description About the Position:
This role is a US-based, Global Role that reports directly to Global Head of Security Services, Architecture, Design & Strategy . The role is responsible for the delivery of the company’s overall Cyber Strategy, and the DR&S strategy, including identification of risk areas and capability (technical and resource) gaps, development of a long term cyber-technology road-map to mitigate risks and capability gaps, as well as work with functional leads to deliver on other strategy directives across risk, governance, and business enablement. The strategy will consider enterprise, IT/OT, CNI and IOT technologies and needs of the company. This will result in a long-range plan for DR&S priorities, budgeting and resources and to provide the basis for our RIIO and Rate Case submissions to Government. The person will also be responsible for leading the coordination of the strategy and plan’s implementation. This person in this role will be required to lead the DR&S Directors and Managers in the development of a coherent strategy which sets out and supports the delivery of their functions. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited too):
Developing and implementing the DR&S strategic plan. To include prioritized tasks and activities to deliver and develop the DR&S role within National Grid. This will be the basis of securing the support of business leaders within National Grid but also be the basis for sanctioning resources required to deliver the plan both internally and through external engagement and the rate case submissions.

Through interaction with the Security Architecture team develop, and maintain, the high-level security strategy for the organization.

Leads teams to develop and deliver strategic enablement work streams that directly support the delivery of the Cyber Strategy, in collaboration with DR&S, Global IS, and engaged senior leadership

Leading the DR&S aspects of Rate case (US) and RIIO (UK) submissions. That sanction process will require internal coordination with senior leaders to develop the Long Term Plan.

Providing the leadership to capture requirements arising from Audit, Maturity Modelling, Investigations, external intelligence sharing and technology developments and incorporate this into DR&S technical programs; while also ensuring coherence with other activities such as process improvement training and awareness etc.

Maintains strong liaison and relationships with Government, Cyber Security experts at all local, state, and federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies by gaining the respect and trust of the law enforcement community (NSA, FBI, MI5, etc.)

Develop an integrated approach to Cyber and Physical / Corporate security by working in partnership with the Global Security team.

Establish and coordinate a University and external Research and Development consortium to enhance our ability to draw upon external resources and experience to support technical solutions, skills development and recruiting.

Plan and lead our external engagement.

Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required:
12+ years, with 4+ years in senior management, of Cyber Security or similar sector experience.

Educated to degree level or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong background in strategy & planning with experience of developing a business wide security strategy. In particular, an ability to incorporate the high level business objectives into practical short, medium and long term measures.

Director level experience, preferably in the Cyber Security Sector, including budget planning and management, understanding of contracting in large and complex organizations.

Experience managing teams of specialists and peers in a flexible and fast paced environment.

Extensive knowledge of US (and UK) Government Strategy and Policy.

Well-connected into US (and UK) government, agencies and academic institutions to enable credible strategic information sharing and influence.

Technical Know-How
Demonstrate ability to identify risk areas and capability (technical and resource) gaps for an organization
Able to develop a long-term cyber-technology road map to deliver on cyber and other strategy directives across the company

Proven track record of successfully delivering business requirements to time and budget constraints.

Proven people management skills, with a track record of leading a team, managing performance and creating development plans.

Understanding of security architecture, IT network security (secure LAN, WAN, vLAN, MPLS, and secure network zoning and restricted network design) and database, operating system and application security.

Good knowledge of technical security solutions such as IDS/IPS, secure remote access, firewalls, encryption, secure protocols, data protection, data loss prevention and identity management solutions.

Appreciation of wider information security related principles, such as those gained in industry or consultancy experience. Including working knowledge of Security Architecture frameworks (SABSA, ITIL etc.) and accepted Maturity Models.

Experience of working in the classified domains both within and outside government.
Desirable qualifications: Security Clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
Industry relevant certifications (including but not limited to CISM, CISSP, GIAC, CRISC, OSCE, CREST ACI/ICE, CEH)

Graduate level education

Experience in utility industry

Experience with AGILE process and performance excellence

Experience working with Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) and utility industry security.

Knowledge of SCADA and PCN systems
