About the Position :
We are looking for a high energy, tech savvy DevOps engineer who will help implement best of breed solutions that drive automation and efficiency. The DevOps Engineer works side by side with our cloud platform provider, application development and operations teams and will be primarily responsible for designing, implementing and automating build, release, deploy, monitoring and configuration activities. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Design and build our continuous integration and delivery environments. Manage our cloud deployment & configuration across production, staging, and dev/test environments. Automate the deployment of new environments. Develop scripts, metrics, and applications to automate and improve operational processes and availability, scaling, and security of the production environment. Work collaboratively with Agile teams to deploy and operate our systems. Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience Required: Has worked with and has proficiency with DEVOPS tools in the following areas: Version Control (Git, SVN) Continuous Integration (Jenkins) Strong background in configuration management tools like Chef, Puppet, and Ansible The more knowledge of AWS, Azure, and OpenStack, the better! Familiarity and understanding of security practices and DevSecOps automation BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field Experience supporting deployments and builds in a 24/7 SaaS environment Working knowledge of Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology (processes, and deliverables) 3+ years scripting languages Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins This position is one of National Grid’s career path roles which provide for promotional opportunities within and across salary bands as you develop and evolve in the position by gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
