We have an immediate opening for aDesign Engineer

The successful candidate will conduct design of Landing Gear and Systems components working within an integrated product development team reporting to the design or work package lead.

Generate drawing and model design changes.

Generate engineering bill of materials and parts lists for components and assemblies.

Perform tolerance stack-up analysis considering fits/clearances, thermal effects, coatings and wear.

Conduct design studies.

Participate in design investigations due to in-service issue, test failures and production problems.

Work with other members of the IPT to ensure the product meets requirements (cost, producibility, customer, regulatory, internal design standards).

Required Qualifications:
Basic understanding of hydromechanical assembly prinicples and design methodologies.
Basic understanding of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes.
Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
Working knowledge of MS programs (Word, Excel, PPT).
Basic understanding of Catia V5 - fundamentals, drafting / interoperability.
Good communication skills.
US citizen, permanent resident alien or able to review all export-controlled technical information.

Preferred Qualifications: Coursework in mechanics of materials and structural analysis. Knowledgeable of hydraulic actuator/system design, forgings, layouts, mechanical system and structural design (fatigue and static). Familiar with ASME Y14.100 and Y14.41. Landing gear and/or hydraulic actuator design experience. Open minded, pro-active, quick learning ability, teamwork and strong desire to learn.

Education BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
