Job Purpose:

Data Governance Lead Specialist will be a strong tactical leader who can drive and implement Data Governance capabilities and processes across the Gas Data Governance. The Data Governance Lead Specialist role facilitates the creation of data standards, policy directives, and processes across all data domains. The primary measures of success for the data governance lead specialist are as follows:
· Lead / Support the role out of the data governance for the gas business enablement program

· Ensure that the DG Organization meets deadlines for support of gas business enablement data initiatives; identify and resolve or escalates issues or roadblocks to the Data Management process lead

· Leverage knowledge of data systems and business usage of data to develop, refine, and implement achievable data governance goals

· Facilitate strong engagement of the data management specialist

· Ensure the Gas Data Governance organization delivers measurable business value

Key Accountabilities:

· Support the strategy planning, roadmap development, and risk reporting for the gas data governance.

· Lead / Support the planning and follow-up for gas data governance meetings and support gas data governance council meeting planning

· Facilitate onboarding of new data specialists

· Conduct data management maturity assessments to identify gaps and pain points for capabilities including data quality, governance, analytics, metadata management, master data management

· Work with the Data Management process lead to build maintain data governance strategy and roadmap based on quantitative and qualitative business analysis

· Drive the design and ongoing maintenance of data standards and data quality standards in support of one company's Data and other future projects

· Drive delivery and implementation of data quality initiatives to ensure organizational goals are met

· Lead the project effort in assigned work stream and develop approach to manage staffing, tasks, timetables, and deliverables

· Review and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, procedures and systems

· Ensure archived records are maintained to satisfy audit and statutory requirements

Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management or related field (an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered). Master’s Degree in an information technology or business administration field focused on information management or digital communications preferred.

o Detailed understanding of all facets of data governance including data architecture and modeling, data quality management, data profiling, metadata management, master data management, and data integration

Experience requirements:

o 5+ years of experience successfully leading an enterprise-level data governance program

o Strong Communicator

o Active or recent lead in a Data Governance project

o Experience establishing data quality control and implementing data standards, data stewardship, metadata management, data lifecycle management, or data architecture management

o Experience in company’s industry is a plus

o Experience implementing a Data Governance Framework

o Experience working in and knowledge working in a company’s industry and market

o SQL/R/Python/Alteryx experience for both building and troubleshooting.

o Tableau/PowerBI experience is a plus

o Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud architecture and tools are a plus

o Strong experience in assigned functional area processes and procedures

o IBM Blueworks and/or Visio

o The ability to work well in a team environment, and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with other staff, departments, and customers.

o Demonstrated ability to partner with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and architects to develop a comprehensive data governance framework and to deploy the framework across gas operations

business value
