Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development including: requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, and product software design, verification & validation. We integrate the control and diagnostic system design across other engine system modules and with the air vehicles and provide support throughout the complete engine product life cycle.

The DPHM discipline within CDS is responsible for the development and deployment of cutting edge data acquisition systems, diagnostics, prognostics, analytics and Usage Based Lifing (UBL) for P&W engines and components, and deploying state of the art development tools & methodologies in collaboration with the P&W business segments.

In this specific role / posting, we are seeking a key team member within our diagnostic team to be a data acquisition & airframe integration team member.

The DPHM data acquisition & airframe integration team works with aircraft manufacturers and Pratt & Whitney teams in gas path analysis, mechanical systems analysis and digital technology. The team writes requirements and validates the implementation of data acquisition reports from engine and aircraft systems.

Job responsibilities include:

+ Coordinate with gas path analysis, mechanical systems analysis & other engineering disciplines to create data requirements for data acquisition systems, along with the verification & validation of those systems

+ Lead investigations into data acquisition issues from all commercial aircraft models flying Pratt & Whitney engines

+ Responsible for leading quality improvements in aircraft & engine data acquisition

+ Responsible for configuration management of changes implemented of reports generated on aircraft

+ Support engine event investigations with the engine health management team

This role will give you exposure to a wide variety of engineering challenges and you will be involved in a critical role for both Pratt & Whitney’s Next Generation Product Family of engines & legacy commercial programs.

The position is based at the P&W East Hartford facility and will report to the DPHM, Commercial Engine Health Management Supervisor.
