Description: Description About the Position: The Analyst will provide analytical support to the Credit & Collections Analysis & Reporting team. Responsible for assisting in the reporting of key financial targets – including, but not limited to, budgeting metrics, forecasts, bad debt performance as well as providing explanations of variances to targets while supporting decisions from a financial perspective. Role reports to Manager, Credit & Collections and maintains close partnerships with Collections Lead Analyst and the Finance organization.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Support Credit & Collections team in coordination with external groups such as Accounting, Finance and Jurisdictions with accounts receivable, write-off and bad debt expense analysis and reporting. Provide support in forecasting as well as cash study for bad debt reserves. Assist in department reporting requirements. Respond timely and accurately to ad hoc and audit requests that are raised relative to understanding the finance and\or systematic impact of a particular event. Continued enhancement of existing reports and data structure to create efficiencies. Support Rate Case information requests and analysis as needed.
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, Master’s preferred and/or a minimum of 5 years of progressive growth in business support roles. Excellent Microsoft Office suite and other technical skills required. Strong analytical skills including the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to both internal and external customers. Familiarity with electric and gas utility accounting and finance requirements; knowledge of relevant industry practice and legislation, including developments in regulation . Experience in utility service business activities and systems (CSS, CRS, SAP) preferred. Basic understanding of Relational Database Management Systems and related data management concepts preferred.
