Description: Description About the Position: Support the SC Procurement Compliance and Audit Manager (Band D) to manage all audit and compliance related tasks for US Procurement, ensuring risks and opportunities are fully addressed and managed. Support in developing and maintaining a comprehensive compliance framework for Global Procurement encompassing; ethics, compliance, audit and risk. Position Responsibilities of (including but not limited to): Support and provide guidance on internal and external audits carried out on the US Procurement division, ensuring full compliance and risk mitigation. Track, monitor and make sure audit actions are addressed. Support the National Grid's supplier Code of Conduct, ensuring it is clearly communicated and adhered to, for instance, screening suppliers for fraud or unethical conduct incedents. Support in the development of the US Procurement compliance controls and manage updates to the US Procurement Risk Register including running regular risk workshops with Band B and C managers. Provide support to the Compliance and Audit Manager, as the Ethics Champion for US Procurement, ensuring the right ethical standards are embedded across the division with the necessary annual training of staff. Investigate any potential ethical issues within National Grid’s supply chain. Support in developing and maintaining a comprehensive compliance framework for Global Procurement encompassing; ethics, compliance, audit and risk. Report and communicate to the Global Procurement Leadership team and wider Executive stakeholders around this framework. Manage all internal compliance reporting for the US Procurement department, including compliance returns and business separation reporting and annual embedded derivatives reporting. Also, run the annual certificates of assurance process. Manage internal and external communications related to ethics and compliances, for example, the Prompt Payment Code. Ensure the US Procurement community have carried out mandatory annual training and maintain and monitor training statistics. Manage the Procurement system, monitoring supplier compliance issues, security breaches, cyber security and digital risk. Monitor and develop the document security process from a compliance and audit point of view; ensuring Global Procurement is compliant and secure. Support on business continuity processes for US Procurement, to ensure the continuing provision of Procurement in the case of a business interruption. Develop own knowledge and awareness of improvements in compliance and audit processes to be able to improve the National Grid skills base and processes and contribute to best practice within the organisation.
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required : Strong relationship building skills and ability to interact credibly and genuinely with senior stakeholders (including up to Board level). Knowledge of Global Procurements Strategic Sourcing Process and associated processes. Experience of supporting audits (including undertaking audits and tracking / analyzing outputs). Bachelor degree or equivalent and demonstrated qualifying experience or equivalent Ability to influence others, that don't directly report to you or your manager, to create and deliver required items. strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite of applications Strong verbal and written skills Ability to assemble and handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion Experience or formal education in Procurement and/or the Supply Chain is a Plus Ability to draft routine correspondence and organize/maintain files or other evidence material for compliance Takes personal responsibility for correcting problems promptly and communicates effectively with external and internal customers to monitor delivery and satisfaction. Reviews accuracy of own work and checks that all details are accurate to ensure multiple tasks and projects are completed on time. Ability to prepare special reports by combining and summarizing data from several sources, recognizing how they are related. Recognizes and proactively addresses upcoming opportunities or obstacles and has the ability to investigate the situation beyond routine questioning.
