Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world's most advanced commercial and military turbine engines, is seeking talented engineers to join our Engineering and Repair Source Approval organization. This position is based in East Hartford, Connecticut. Based on your experience and business needs, you will be assigned a position of responsibility as a Coatings Process Approver. We are specifically looking for someone with 6 years minimum experience in coatings manufacture and rework, including LPPS, CATARC, EB PVD, aluminides and other types of both metallic and ceramic coatings. Familiarity with chemical processing such as anodizing, plating, priming and chem milling is a plus. You will be responsible for approving and supporting commercial and military programs to ensure supplier processes yield parts which meet design intent. This may include addressing various material and processing needs and gas turbine engine hardware and material evaluations. Specific tasks may include process review and monitoring, non-destructive inspection, destructive metallurgical testing and evaluation of engine hardware, pilot testing of chemical processes and property analysis. You will also document and analyze data/results, generate standard work, prepare reports, and generate standard work. You will support both OEM (original equipment manufacture) and repair coating processes. Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical field required.


The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience in the manufacture, materials engineering and/or design of coatings as well as general knowledge and experience with a broad range of coating types. Knowledge of Pratt & Whitney design and quality systems is desired.


Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering preferred. M.S. Engineering is a bonus. Green belt and/or black belt certification and training is a plus. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen due to government program requirements
