Description: Description About the Position: The Change Management Lead Specialist will lead in the planning, execution, and evaluation of change plans to support National Grid’s continuous improvement efforts. This person will focus on the people impact side of change – including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. Reports to the Director, Change Management & Capability, and is responsible for the integration and delivery of change throughout the US organization
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Supports and enables the adoption of change processes through establishing change plans and communications throughout Program lifecycle. Establishes change activities through the review of program and project scope, identification of group impact and comparison of current change sustainability within the organization. Responsible for supporting cultural change and adoption by developing change metrics and evaluating the level of change adoption across businesses impacted by continuous improvement projects. Partners with stakeholder(s) undergoing organizational change to develop stakeholder strategy, milestones and outcomes. Designs and delivers change communications and training (with the Training Organization) to provide leadership with the ability to champion change. Models potential team performance and employee impact of change initiatives and shares findings with Director, and VP, Performance as well as project Steering groups. Identifies and escalates project risks, and employee resistance; partners with Director, Change Management & Capability to develop change activities to mitigate risks and gain alignment with impacted leaders. Creates change management communications and documents processes to ensure adherence to internal control guidelines. Leverages knowledge of internal processes to provide guidance and feedback when developing project plans a plus. Establishes change adoption metrics to measure effectiveness of change within project. Reviews and makes change methodology recommendations using a proven change management methodology, and applying feedback from lessons learned. Monitor and review work undertaken by direct reports and project team in order to provide feedback on the appropriate use of materials, tools, equipment or resources and adherence to schedules. Monitor performance of allocated staff including issues relating to attendance, performance and standards of work in order to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and effectively. Train and up-skill team members in Change Management strategy to build additional capabilities within Business Planning & Performance.
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred Minimum of 5 years in change management Change Management Certification preferred. Change / Project Management roles with some continuous improvement experience preferred.
Capability Requirements: Demonstrated ability to drive change across a complex organization (preferably a utility or customer facing organization) Proven experience managing risks and issues across projects and programs Engages stakeholders and has effective collaboration and partnership capabilities Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines Excellent written / oral communication skills, follow-up, and negotiation skills Demonstrates Leadership capability across different functional areas Change management planning using a proven change management methodology Communication and change document creation for all levels of the organization Proven history with the change management lifecycle and integration into project management tollgates Experience of project management including budget management and project timelines with competing priorities Ability to think strategically and execute on change management strategies. Knowledge of business processes to provide guidance and feedback when developing change management project plans. Drives for Results Has Self-Awareness Job Dimensions:
