The only real constantis ‘Change. The Gas Business Enablement (GBE) team is at the forefront of thatchange for National Grid. This role affords a hugely exciting opportunity forsomeone with strong change management skills to lead the change effort for oneof the programs key work streams. The clear objective being to successfullytransition people from those business areas impacted by the change through tobuy in and commitment, with the inevitable consequences of not just realizingbut sustaining the intended benefits..
A major long-terminvestment, GBE’s goal is to improve customer satisfaction, and enhance compliance,rate case strategy and overall performance, enabling employees to provide thebest service they can. This project is a significant undertaking as westandardize and simplify our operational processes and upgrade the technicalsystems they run on in what is a rapidly changing external environment.
We are looking for theright professional to join an enthusiastic team of Change professionals, who’sfocus is to support National Grid to move through the GBE change, supportcontinuous improvement efforts, build buy in and commitment to that changewhilst at the same time developing an enduring longer term capability, as wecontinue to move forward in an ever changing environment.
The successful candidatewill have had previous experience of managing and leading change efforts withinlarge change programs, have a strong business acumen, excellent organizationalskills and proven experience of leading change. They will be able to bring someexciting ideas and opportunities to the table and proactively drive thethinking of both the Change Management Office (CMO) team, for which this rolewill be a part of, and that of the wider company level business readinesschange effort.
Key Accountabilities: · Lead in the development,design and execution of all work stream level change strategies acrossTraining, Engagement, Communications, Business Readiness , Leadershipdevelopment, measurement, Sustainment, Post Go Live Support etc. · Own and drive businessspecific change plans ensuring the change journey is relevant and tailored toeach business area, team impacted by the change · Look for opportunitiesthroughout engagement to exercise the change management principles e.g. engagemany not just the few etc. – aligning across the other work streams and CMO toshare best practice · Ongoing evaluation ofthe change adoption across the business areas impacted by the change, adjustingcourse according · Identification andmanagement of all relevant stakeholder groups, building relationships andunderstanding in support of a more enhanced change experience · Support engagement withthe Volunteer Network, managed centrally as part of the wider Program to buildmomentum around the change · Represents the fullscope of Change Strategy and associated approaches to drive changeadoption and sustainment to the extent able to articulate value add andeffectiveness · Managing a small team of ChangeAnalyst, in support of the execution of the wider change effort · Train and up-skill teammembers in Change Management strategy to build additional capabilities withinand across wider change team
Capability Requirements:
· Expert change professional able to provideadvice and guidance on how best to manage change through people not peoplethrough change · Proven experience in various changemanagement strategies and the execution of those strategies with effectiveresults · Have a creative approach to developing,planning and executing innovative change strategies specifically tailored tomeet the need of the business area impacted · A flair for building relationships andconfidence to influence at a senior level, both inside and outside of theorganization. · Experience of analyzing complex data, andthe ability to translate information to define the change impact and associatedchange interventions, effort required in the change plan · Self-motivated, able to work well withothers, and on own initiative, to successfully drive a work stream level changeeffort. · Experience in working with a large,complex organisation, and working in partnership with a number oforganizations/stakeholder communications. · Very strong organizational skills, abilityto meet deadlines and proven experience of managing risks and issues in orderto mitigate potential obstacles · Solid understanding & knowledge ofeffectively managing organizational change · Results driven yet self-aware with strong team collaborationskills · Proficient in MS Word,PowerPoint, Excel · Working knowledge of MSProject an asset · Extensive workingknowledge of the principles and practices of effective Project Management · Effective collaborationand partnership capabilities and ability to influence at all levels across theorganisation · Ability to thinkstrategically and execute on change management strategies · Excellent Oral andwritten communication skills
Knowledge& Experience Requirements: · Understanding of the NaturalGas Utility business · Minimum of 10 yearsleading change within a significant size company · Minimum of 2 years in aleadership role · 3+ year of experience inProject Management, Certification a plus · Bachelor’s Degree, Master’sDegree preferred, in ;Communications, Engagement, Organizational development,Training & Development, Human Resources, Leadership or other related area · Experience of designingand implementing stakeholder engagement strategies · Experience in leadingengagement change efforts
