Based at our Lorton, VA facility, we seek a dedicated individual who will be responsible for the operation and inspection of various systems and equipment as assigned under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor and the direction of the Control Room Operator. Normally, their assigned areas will include the water treatment areas and associated systems such as clarifiers, the Reverse Osmosis Train, and the testing of feed water quality. Other areas will include the boilers and associated systems such as fans, grates, ash and dust systems.  In addition, when so assigned by the Shift Supervisor, the Auxiliary Operator will perform the duties of crane operator.

The duties of the Auxiliary Operator include the safe and efficient operation of their assigned equipment in accordance with the established plant operating procedures. They are responsible for recording data, reporting equipment malfunctions or trends, which indicate possible trouble, and performing actions as directed to correct abnormal operating conditions or emergency situations.

The position of Auxiliary Operator requires at least three (3) years previous experience with high pressure boilers and electric generating equipment.

HS Diploma/GED is also required with formal technical or utility training preferred.

Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Ability to work at heights up to 50'.
Driver’s license
