 Located at our Lorton, VA facility, we seek a dedicated individual who, working under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor and the direction of the Control Room Operator, will be responsible for the operation and inspection of various systems and equipment as assigned. Normally, their assigned areas will include the boilers and associated systems such as fans, grates, ash and dust systems, the demineralizer, and the testing of feedwater quality. In addition, when so assigned by the Shift Supervisor, the Auxiliary Operator will perform the duties of crane operator. The duties of the Auxiliary Operator include the safe and efficient operation of their assigned equipment in accordance with the established plant operating procedures. They are responsible for recording data, reporting equipment malfunctions or trends, which indicate possible trouble, and performing actions as directed to correct abnormal operating conditions or emergency situations.


Qualified candidate must have three years previous experience with high pressure boilers and electric generating equipment, a HS Diploma/GED and formal technical or utility training. Navy engineering background or mechanical engineering degree a plus.
