Pratt & Whitney is currently seeking an Automation Manufacturing Engineer for Fan Assembly and Module Center Operations at the Lansing, Michigan site who will serve as serve as subject matter expert over Robotic Automation FANUC systems based projects and activities

Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Lead team efforts by providing equipment specification for vendors to quote required Robotic/ Automated equipment.
  • Drive reviews of equipment quotes, leads design reviews and manages and leads project teams to provide assembly equipment
  • Coordinate installations of equipment and fixtures
  • Program Robotic/Automated FANUC systems
  • Write engineering work instructions, ensuring specifications are well defined and documented
  • Monitor process to ensure high process yield
  • Communicate and coordinate activities with multiple functional groups
  • Coordinate multiple Robotic/Automation projects
  • Comply with EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements
  • Actively support the organization's efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans

Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or related Engineering discipline
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience working with automation and robotic applications with FANUC equipment / robot and Teach Pendent programming knowledge required
  • Requires experience with RoboGuide FANUC Simulation software and knowledge of Work to Cell Simulation calibration
  • Must have strong project management/leadership and lean manufacturing and kaizen continuous improvements experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of "KAREL"
  • System Set-up experience (wiring in e-Stops, I/O's, etc.)
  • Six-sigma green belt certification
  • Process management / statistical process control / data analysis / analysis of variance / design of experiment / process risk analysis / PPAP / FMEA, control plans, root cause analysis experience

Education BS Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or related Engineering discipline
