This position will provide strategic leadership and support to the Forging Center of Excellence. In addition, responsible for providing human resources leadership for Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Forge (Disks and Blades) and Columbus Engine Center. The incumbent will support 2 business units on 3 sites with more than 1,600 (322 salary/1280 hourly) employees. These sites are hourly management represented. The site HR leader is also responsible for a team of 14 professionals including training, communications, and HR shared service.

Key initiatives and focus areas for this leader include continued preparation and support of the Geared TurboFan (GTF) engine family ramp in the engine center, including talent acquisition and associated onboarding and training to ensure a ready workforce. The forging operation is undergoing major transformation inclusive of organizational structure, which will fuel the future of this business. Across the board, engagement, onboarding, and training are the major focus areas that require strategic direction and HR leadership. This role will be critical to driving consistency that leads to a common employee experience throughout the two businesses.

This position will report directly to Human Resources for Manufacturing Operations with a strong dotted line to Human Resources for Aftermarket Operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership, administrative direction and control to various employee relations, talent acquisition, management development, training, affirmative action and special purpose programs in support of Columbus, GA operations and business activities, ensuring consistent messaging, policies, and practices for the site.

  • Formulate and implement plans, programs, procedures and standards as required relating to salary/hourly organization, employee relations, placement, recruiting, compensation, training, employee information, management personnel planning and development.
  • Continually review and maintain an awareness of competitive and business trends and practices, and assure a current working knowledge of employee attitudes, operating problems and organization requirements.
  • Keep senior management for both business units, including Industrial Relations, apprised of relevant and meaningful information concerning employee relations practices.
  • Partner with Industrial Relations to maintain strategic positive employee relations.
  • Develop and implement solutions to enable an inclusive work environment and support implementation of programs that raise awareness and improve cultural competence.
