The Entry Into Service (EIS) team, within the Customer Service organization, drives readiness for each program and operator EIS, as well as providing early support for each program launch. P&W has already brought the GTF into service with 16 operators on two different airframes. Many new customers remain on the skyline along with new platforms to launch, as the backlog of 8000 GTF engines continues to grow.

Responsibilities for the EIS Associate Director include:

  • Leading the Core EIS team; with functions of customer readiness, supplier readiness/management, and data analytics and systems tools.
  • The customer readiness function manages continuous improvement into the EIS Gated Process, used with each operator for a successful EIS. The customer readiness team supports each customer facing team to ensure all deliverables are complete for each operator. On-going streamlining the EIS Gated process for efficiencies for the airline and the P&W customer facing teams has been critical to support the ramp - these productivity improvements must be sustained.
  • The supplier readiness and management team focuses on readiness and ramp preparation for Category 1 suppliers for both engine components and propulsion systems. A key focus is deeper integration of customer preparations and support at these suppliers more seamlessly into the P&W processes.
  • Data analytics and information systems team owns forging a data and information strategy that keeps the data tools in front of EIS demands. Included are on-going IT improvements on key tools like the CRM systems, used to manage the EIS Gated process.
  • Cross-program learning, benchmarking, and standard processes are among the tools expected to be leveraged by the Associate Director to get ahead of problems and resolve them prior to hindering a successful EIS ramp.
