Description: Description About the Position:
Oversee all aspects of National Grid warehouse management efforts relating to budgets, metrics, audits, process excellence, and inventory integrity. Work with warehouse management to draft, maintain, and publish all policies and procedures relating to the above and ensure compliance across National Grid warehouse and barn locations. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Communicate with Finance as needed and maintain and communicate with management the Warehouse Management monthly and yearly budgets.
Create as needed, update, and publish all Warehouse Management’s metrics. Update the Director’s Hub on a weekly basis. Serve as the Director Hub meeting scribe.
Serve as the Warehouse Management’s contact for all audit requests. Provide analysis and other data as requested by internal and external auditors.
Maintain a repository of all Warehouse Management’s Process Excellence efforts and savings. Work with Inventory Management Analysts on cycle count policy and procedures. Edit, submit for approval from Policy Oversight Committee (POC), maintain, and publish to all affected users and departments. Create central repository for all applicable policy, procedure, training, and business documents used to support the Warehouse Management department. Maintain as appropriate. Provide support, participatory, and lead roles into new, innovative technologies and processes in warehouse management that will improve the efficiency of items carried in inventory at National Grid. Independently collate and analyze work unit and/or financial data within one or multiple areas using pre-determined tools, methods and formats in order to support the department’s decision making process.
Execute instructions and requests, plan and organize resources and make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and in line with relevant policies and processes. Maintain and provide information such as regulatory information in order to ensure regulators and other stakeholders are kept up to date with relevant National Grid policies, processes and programs. Monitor and review financial information, updating where necessary in order to identify any anomalies or discrepancies and ensure management has access to up to date and accurate information. Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to obtain and share information that will benefit National Grid. Manage the day to day relationship with relevant internal parties or employees in order to understand their requirements, deliver appropriate, customized solutions and advice, and build cross-functional working in line with National Grid policies and processes. Assist and coordinate work on projects by contributing to developing project standards and processes to improve project delivery within the relevant function. Develop and maintain analytical systems, models and procedures in order to support design solutions and enhance time/consistency/safety/efficiency and operability.
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: A Bachelor's degree in a business related area, supply chain, accounting, engineering, or finance and up to 5 years of related experience, or equivalent work experience. An advanced degree/credits is preferred. APICS or ISM certification highly desirable. Knowledge and experience in supply chain is required. Knowledge of warehousing, distribution, material requirements planning, inventory management, and/or procurement highly desirable. Must be able to work in a metrics-driven organization, with a focus on continuous improvement. Hands-on experience with Six Sigma, Lean, and/or TQM principles is highly desirable. Experience with SAP, specifically WM module and reporting functions desirable. Knowledge of National Grid's business operations, company policies, work practices, regulatory requirements, and local legislation. Proficient in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of Excel’s advanced features. Skilled in pivot tables, queries, graphing, and sorting & filtering data highly desirable.
