The Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment at the University of Florida (UF) Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering seek dynamic, forward-thinking, and highly qualified individuals for a faculty position(s) in automation and robotics in construction. The open rank tenure-track position(s) provides an excellent opportunity to develop a nationally recognized program in automated machine systems and engineering for construction in a state with the 4th highest construction spending in the U.S. As a comprehensive land-grant university, the University of Florida offers excellent opportunities for collaboration with experts in structural engineering, construction materials, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, materials science, robotics, and architecture.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in civil engineering, construction engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field.  The candidate should have a record of or demonstrate the potential for successful proposal writing, PhD student mentoring, scholarship, and classroom teaching.


Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in advanced construction robotics, additive manufacturing, 3D environmental perception, control systems for construction automation, or industrialized construction systems. Applicants that can bridge the fields of construction, computer science, and robotics are particularly encouraged to apply.
