The Precision Fluidics Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation is a leading global supplier of miniature fluidic components and system solutions integral to medical and analytical instrumentation device technology. Precision Fluidics Division is known for its innovative design and manufacture of miniature solenoid valves, proportional valves, pumps, electronic pressure controllers, mass flow controllers, and application specific system solutions. These products control movement and direction of precise amounts of fluid in medical devices and life science analytical instruments as well as clinical diagnostic, gas detection and printing systems. Supporting a broad range of applications including kidney dialysis, patient monitoring, clinical diagnostics, and gas chromatography, Precision Fluidics products deliver leading edge fluidic solutions that enhance our customer’s technology, increase their speed to market while lowering their overall costs. This is achieved through direct engineering collaboration to generate compact, reliable and high performance components and systems optimized for application specific requirements. Parker Precision Fluidics is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Applications Engineer III for our New Hampshire facility.

Responsibilities

•Lead Customer Driven Projects (CDP) through effective project management, customer and inter-company communications, product and system design solutions, and release documentation. •Facilitate improvement of the CDP process through use of division lean tools. •Provide proactive technical product and applications support to customers and field sales personnel to ensure an optimized product solution, to facilitate sales revenue, and to maintain the Division’s premier customer service position. •Execute verification plans and tests to ensure product compliance to customer requirements, acceptable manufacturing yields, and minimal project risk. •Utilizes and interprets predictive models (FEA, CFD, etc.) to simulate and verify design concepts. •Develops conceptual and detailed product specifications by analyzing performance and customer requirements. Investigates design factors such as function, materials, performance, interchangeability, cost, operational efficiency, and contractual requirements. May develop preliminary designs from customer input and descriptive information provided by others. •Writes supporting documentation for procedures and technical reports; may assist in writing technical proposals for customers. •Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of Divisional products as well as competitive products. •Reviews product specifications to ensure clarity, completeness, form, fit, function, and conformity to standards and procedures. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions, engineering change orders, and improvements to engineering management or the project team. •Conducts root cause analysis and Problems solving using DMAIC or six sigma tools •Supports customers with change requests. •Drives growth by developing product customization and value added systems solutions. •Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and/or participating in professional associations. •Shares specialized knowledge with others. Assists in mentoring new employees. •Represents the company collaborating with customers and suppliers on specific projects or engineering tasks.

Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other closely related discipline. •Minimum of four years' of experience in product development or applications engineering in a business that manufactures electro-mechanical components and products. •Project management experience preferred. •Ability to communicate effectively with customers using face to face, telephone and written communication. Online chat experience preferred. •Working knowledge of mechanical engineering domain principles and techniques, product functionality, industry practices, regulations, and policies. General knowledge of other related engineering and technical areas. •Proficient with engineering design and analysis tools such as Inventor (e.g. computer‐aided design or modeling systems). •Ability to work with general objectives regarding projects and team goals; applies judgment in selecting procedures and techniques that should be applied. Works collaboratively in a team environment. •Ability to effectively communicate status, actions, recommendations, and other technical information with clarity and precision. Responsive to inquiries from other engineering and business teams. Prior experience working directly with external customers highly preferred.
