About the Position: Finance Operations, Analyst, Rate Case is responsible for responding to rate case inquires. Collects information to support, discover and prepare rate case documents. Updates asset and liability catalog for appropriate treatments based on rate case. Provides responses to data requests and drafts communications to inform business of filing results and provide analysis.
Reports to the Manager, Rate Case and provides rate case execution, drafts communications and ensures a timely and accurate response to rate case inquires. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Obtains information to draft rate case inquires ensuring consistency and accuracy of rate case responses. Provides rate case execution documentation to support Regulatory and the submittal of business plans to state and regulatory agencies. Conducts discovery to support rate case inquiry response documents. Provides analysis of trends for insight on rate case execution inquires. Completes responses for data requests by incorporating jurisdiction view-point. Responsible for gaining approval on rate case drafts and rework. Maintains quality control for responses to ensure credible information. Ensures timely and credible document responses for regulators. Monitors response rate for rate case activities to identify issues and communicate. Evaluates rate case executions to measure key performance indicators (KPIs). Responsible for supporting financial and non-financial controls to meet business requirements. Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: Regulatory compliance. Rate case execution. Business unit and Regulatory. Regulatory requirements. Accounting system processes. Data collection and reports. US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and SEC regulations . Process management. Utility industry accounting. Risk mitigation. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in regulatory accounting roles and process review with increasing responsibility. Ability to support regulatory processes and rate case filings. Experience managing competing priorities while maintaining compliance. Ability to work cross-functionally on finance processes. Background in utility service business activities and projects. Excellent written / oral communication skills, follow-up, and negotiation skills.
