Description: Description About the Role The Technology Analyst drives improvements in the quality, capability and measurement of business solutions across the Hire to Retire process. This will be achieved by focusing on the increased usage of information technology by blending people, process and technology. The Analyst will leverage existing and recommend new solutions to meet end to end process objectives of increased internal customer engagement, drive higher self-service adoption, and optimize capabilities to save time, drive value and improve the overall customer experience. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Lead the evaluation, build or implementation of potential technology solutions (e.g. hardware, software) for business processes emphasizing the element of process, and implications on technology, during the definition of all business activities. This responsibility requires a basic understanding of Information Technology architectures and a keen awareness of emerging technologies. Serve as the liaison between Departments and Functions (e.g. Employee Services, HRIS, Payroll, HR and Information Services), maintaining an effective partnership between groups. Ensure that technology priorities are communicated clearly, are properly addressed, ensure that the solutions meet requirements and teams are planning for larger-scale, long-term technology needs. Support reporting requirements, data transfer and analysis activities. Support and improve upon technology (web/mobile/social media/text/email/case management/knowledge management) to more fully engage our internal customers and improve ability to self-serve. Responsible for designing, coding and modifying our Case and Knowledge Management System and Intranet/Internet presence from layout to function to ensure driving towards high acceptance / usage rates. Strive to create visually appealing technology experiences that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation. Develop and lead a comprehensive plan to drive a better technology experience and ensure/anticipate support of future internal customer needs through analysis of current quality issues and development of appropriate improvement opportunities. Leverage the Voice of the Customer and supporting analytics to identify gaps and address pain points. Actively research and suggest methods to update, simplify, improve, and enhance processes, procedures and technologies. Research best practices across multiple industries and implement. Primary point of contact to advise, troubleshoot, and address any issues with the current toolset (i.e., Access databases, SharePoint, Infonet, MS Office/Excel, Case Management System, IVR, etc.). Create new, modify, document and support existing database structures; includes generation, initial load, change control and archiving in order to ensure data integrity. Responsible for developing metrics, measurements and reporting methodology. Using the available tools (e.g. Case Management System, IVR, etc.) to develop reports and related timelines that will properly assess service across the process. Provide data analysis, associated metrics and reporting to support delivering business results, improving service delivery and maintaining compliance. Develop detailed project plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation phases of projects Develop criteria for and participates in the evaluation of 3rd party vendors and software as well as due diligence exercises Develop and maintain analytical systems, models and procedures in order to support design solutions and enhance time/consistency/safety/efficiency and operability Review and evaluate business/supplier audit results (e.g., process, financial, inventory, vendor conformance) and compare to metrics in order to ensure appropriate actions are taken to eliminate non-conformance Research and analyze key themes from a wide range of data sources in order to identify how different scenarios may impact upon the business Demonstrates ability to deliver engaging presentations as well as train/educate peers and team Keep up to date with market/regulatory developments within own profession/discipline in order to ensure the optimization of best practice for National Grid
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree preferred (Computer Science preferred) and 3+ years experience Preferred experience with content management platforms – specifically Oracle Could Service (e.g. Case Management System, Knowledge Base System), and an ability to translate business needs into client-friendly functions Preferred experience with HR Information Systems (e.g. SAP, SuccessFactors, PeopleSoft) Knowledge of different programming languages (e.g Visual Basic, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), SQL, HTML, JavaScript), Web User Interface Design (UI), Security Principles, Object-Oriented Design, Web Services (REST/SOAP), Multimedia Content Development, and API's Expert-level proficiency in MS Office products, including by not limited to Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint Ability to see multiple relationships between data to identify root causes of a problem and develop permanent solutions to systematic issues Knowledge of relevant industry practices for case management, measurements, and metrics. Knowledge of current trends in HR and Benefits and developments in legislation or regulation Experience of managing project teams and projects independently Ability to consistently maintain a team environment by openly sharing information, exchanging ideas, coordinating activities, peer coaching, and /or jointly solving problems Excellent oral and written communication skills.
