Job Description:

Review and approve internal and external (i.e. supplier) engineering drawings, specifications, quality documents, change proposals, test plans, safety of flight reports, certification plans and reports in accordance with applicable Airworthiness and Configuration management requirements to support both new and legacy programs.

Perform certification activities (structural, fire, lightning, etc.) in support of UTAS programs.

Review and approve customer support repairs.

Support Airbus DOID activities.

Airbus Designated Airworthiness Engineer (DAE)

Create Standard Work for Airworthiness/Certification Tasks.

Lead and participate in Kaizen events for continuous improvement. Collaborate with other value streams, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to achieve company goals.

Process Master Drawing List and review and approve structural Repair Manuals per FAA requirements for company owned Supplemental Type Certificates (STC's).
Project Specific Certification Plan (PSCP) coordination with FAA.BS and working experience with the FAA on activities similar to those authorized under applicable regulatory production approvals.(1) Comprehensive knowledge of regulations, orders, advisory circulars, policies, procedures, forms, etc.
(2) Demonstrated sound judgment and integrity.
(3) Sufficient technical knowledge, training, skill, and experience.
(4) 5-8 years of airworthiness experience or certification experience in CFR part 25 Transport Category Airplanes (e.g., inlet cowl, fan cowl, thrust reverser, core cowl, engine mount, EBU and exhaust system).

(1) Configuration management and propulsion systems desired.
(2) AS9100 Auditor Training and Quality System audit experience.
(3) Working knowledge of SAP, Teamcenter, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Project and Excel.
Qualifications Minimum of six years experience required. Education Bachelor's degree required.
